Oyatsu by laCASA
Issues and Background
ALIVE has long been entrusted with the renewal of the online store of “Oyatsu,” a fig-based confectionery brand in Anjo City, Aichi Prefecture, operated by la CASA (https://www.lacasa.co.jp/), a housing company in Aichi Prefecture, to which Alive has been entrusting its website for a long time. The company initially used STORES.
Initially, the company operated a simple online store using STORES, but due to limitations in functionality and design, as well as the opportunity to establish branding, we decided to propose a renewal of the online store.
This time, we utilized “Shopify,” a highly scalable e-commerce site with a wide range of design customization options.
Design Concepts
While respecting the world view of the photos provided by La Casa, we kept the site design simple with white as the primary color.
Since oyatsu offers a wide variety of products using figs from Anjo City, Aichi Prefecture, which boasts Japan’s largest fig production, we tried to choose photos that convey the freshness and deliciousness of the figs.
Target
Customers who like natural oriented sweets, mainly women in their 20s to 40s.
Points of particular interest
Points of particular interest
We were conscious of the white margins and photo selection to convey the image and appeal of the product photos within the limited number of photos, so that customers would think the product looks delicious and want to buy it.
A word from our staff
This project was for la CASA, with whom we have a long-standing relationship, so we had a good understanding of la CASA’s commitment to design and branding.
We worked closely with the brand director, who was in charge of photography, to create a website design that expressed Oyatsu’s concept.
We also worked closely with the branding director who was in charge of the photos, and I think we were able to create a site that was simple but had a strong message, in the best sense of the word, “not like a candy store’s EC site.
Shopify’s highly scalable functionality, which we were unable to implement on the original site, made it possible to improve the site’s functionality, making it easy to use from the user’s perspective as well.
